Background

Please note that the farm is closed until further notice.

Believe it or not, for quite a while now we've had people stopping on Relbia road and taking pictures of the farm, the animals, our house and the property. Some local bus tours made it a compulsory stop. We'd often get these photographs in the mail with a note asking if we'd be kind enough to autograph and then return them.

So it got us thinking that maybe we could open the property as a tourist attraction, to enable you to see where we live, and what the farm is all about. My wife, Janine, and I believe this is a unique attraction. Very few farms offer the range of domestic animals that we do, very few have our history, and even fewer are 'hands on'. Yes, you get to touch, feel and even cuddle the animals.

One of my main aims in life is to teach children a love, understanding and respect for animals - knowing they'll carry that through to adult life and hopefully translate that into a love and understanding for their fellow man. The hobby farm concept will help to further this goal.

So, in February 2005 we launched the idea. It's taken well over eighteen months to get the buildings built and the thing up and running. Now I invite you to look around the site and if you like what you see here we will look forward to seeing you in person at our farm. >> next
